I’m Carolyn, a plus‑size senior sewist and the founder of The Academy of Sewing. I created this space for sewists who love making beautiful garments but often feel overlooked in traditional sewing instruction. I understand the challenges that come with sewing as our bodies change, and I know how discouraging it can feel when patterns, tools, and techniques don’t support the way we move today.

My work focuses on helping plus‑size senior sewists create garments that feel elegant, comfortable, and true to their personal style. I teach methods that reduce unnecessary effort, improve accuracy, and make the entire sewing experience more enjoyable. My goal is to give you the confidence, clarity, and support you need to sew with ease and create clothing that fits beautifully.
